I just created a team at https://github.com/orgs/gdcc/teams/docs-wg because I just made https://github.com/gdcc/www.gdcc.io/pull/15 and I was thinking it might be nice to have an easy way to request a review from each of the members of the docs working group with a single click.

We could also create a docs-wg under the IQSS GitHub org, of course. I just thought I'd start with the gdcc org as an experiment.

Anyway, I sent some invites out. If I missed you, please let me know!

Interesting approach, thanks for the initiative. To put on the "sustainability working group hat", I think this should be documented even if the process evolves a lot and is yet experimental in order to improve the Dataverse project's visibility and clarity of the governance. Also the sole fact of documenting this practice would help documenting out the other aspects of the review process :grinning: .

Are there been discussion with other teams/WGs to try out such group attribution depending on the review needed (I'm thinking of UX-WG and core team) ?

If any group is ready to document a process, it's the docs group. :grinning: Sure!

In general, so far we've only used teams on GitHub for access control. Who has permission to read or write. This would be a new usage.

Maybe we could see how it goes for docs-wg and then try it with ux-wg.

A good next step would be to create a docs-wg team under the IQSS GitHub org. That's where most of the docs are. :grinning:

I just requested a review from the docs-wg team at https://github.com/gdcc/www.gdcc.io/pull/16

Out of curiosity, do you get an email or other such notification?

I got an email from GitHub with "@pdurbin requested review from @gdcc/docs-wg on: #16 now that we have "Edit on Github" on every page...."

Cool, so it worked. Thanks!

When you're ready for me to create @iqss/docs-wg (for the IQSS org, that is), just lemme know. :grinning:
