Hey everyone. Just passing along more info about the satellite meetings during this year's Dataverse Community Meeting that Dataverse working groups can use for meeting.

Working group leads interested in meeting in-person and online on May 12 can use the DCM2026 registration form to request a meeting for the working group.

On the registration form, WG leads will need to include a list of in-person attendees, who won't be let in if they haven't registered and aren't on the list, and are responsible for letting group members know about the May 12 meeting and for any marketing for new members.

Hi there .. just wondering if there will be a large data working group meeting at DCM2026?

Hi @Deirdre Kirmis a working group would be great! I have not had any time to organize it, however, and Sonia will not be at the conference this year.

Would you or someone else be willing to get things set up with the DCM organizers? I could really use the help! :)

Sure, I'll look into what is needed to get that set up. Thanks!

@Julian Gautier would I just edit my registration (already submitted) and add a satellite proposal for the Large Data WG? And, likely need to ask who will attend first? Or is it too late? Thanks.

Hey @Deirdre Kirmis. I know it's not too late, but not sure off hand what the process is for adding a satellite proposal after you've already registered. I remember chatting about this with Felipe in another Zulip channel. Be right back!

Ah, the conversation I was thinking of is at #community > #Dataverse2026 @ 💬. I was wrong, we didn't talk about how to add a satellite proposal after you've registered.

Do you see a way to edit your registration? Or you think someone would have to do it for you?

Or can someone else who hasn't but plans to register add the satellite proposal for the Large Data WG when they register?

I can edit my proposal .. I'll see if that works! Thanks!

Hi @Deirdre Kirmis ,

I'm not part of the working group, but I'd be interested in joining the satellite meeting and learn more about how different repositories support large data. Not so much from a technical perspective, but discussing best practices. We're currently looking into policies and procedures for publishing metadata-only in Dataverse with linking to large files deposited and archived elsewhere.

(I have already registered for the DCM main program.)

@Deirdre Kirmis please add me as well. I'm hoping the working group meetings are not concurrent!

Hi @Deirdre Kirmis, if it's not too late, can I be added to the list for the large data meeting as well?

view this post on Zulip Deirdre Kirmis (Mar 24 2026 at 19:15):

Not too late! I will add you! I'm giving it a week or so to get responses before I submit the proposal/name list. Thanks!
