I have put some work into the documentation about CORS in Dataverse, S3, etc. as I found it confusing and scattered. Let me know what y'all think! https://dataverse-guide--12162.org.readthedocs.build/en/12162/installation/config.html#cross-origin-resource-sharing-cors
The PR also moves the page about "Big Data Support" under the installation guide. It felt wrong to still have this under the "Development Guide"! It's been around for a long time and it should be more obvious for admins to find. Also, the things described there are more or less not development related... :see_no_evil:
I put https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/pull/12162 under "ready for triage". I hope that's ok.
Maybe let me hack some more on it. So far it's only been moving text around and reading up on the topic. I still need to actually configure our Ceph bucket.
Also, do you think we should include the more restrictive examples from https://github.com/gdcc/dataverse-previewers/wiki/Using-Previewers-with-download-redirects-from-S3 as downloadable files?
Sure, "on hold" now.
With our normal Sphinx :download: trick? Sure!
It would require adding the files though, right?
They live in the external repo
OK after applying with mc, I can verify: Dataverse Direct Up & Download work with Ceph S3! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Yeah. If it's better to make downloadable files in that other repo, that's fine. That repo is Jim's baby so you might want to check with him.
It's probably fine to keep these over there. We do link to them from the right places.
cool, cool
