Hi! I just wonder what is the current status of the SPA implementation? is there a roadmap for that?

Here's the roadmap page: https://www.iq.harvard.edu/roadmap-dataverse-project

Has a huge colorful roadmap with schedule.

I would recommend looking at https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse-frontend#roadmap

I don't see it linked but there's also a Q3 2024 doc.

Thanks, Philip! I also wonder how the backend API is implemented for things that are not supported by the current DV API? Are these implemented in upstream version of DV, like 6.3, 6.4 or is is developed in a separate branch?

All the API improvements the SPA needs are going into regular Dataverse releases.

Curious if there is a projected timeframe for the new UI to be integrated into the live Dataverse repo? We are working on a landing page for our installation and wondering if we should wait for the new UI (as I assume it will make custom design easier), or just use the custom option available or another solution for now?

Hi Deirdre, we are aiming to deploy an MVP version of the new UI in June 2025, that will focus on authentication features needed to support the Harvard Dataverse installation, and other features related to viewing Datasets, Files and Collections.
If you need customization right away, I think it's best to use the current solutions in production, but we are working on a basic landing page that in the future will be customizable for installations. You can take a look at it in our beta version here, based on this issue in the frontend
repository.

actually, I'm seeing now that there is an error in the beta home page, looking into that now!

ok, that was just my browser, it's working now :+1:

That is awesome to hear, and we will look forward to the new UI option coming soon! Thanks for the update!

Hello,
I was looking through the road map and wondering if the SPA is officially released?
I ask because it still show's Beta on the github repo. I'm working to plan it into our road map, but not sure if I should yet.

Thanks!

There's still some Harvard-specific content in the SPA: https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse-frontend/issues/791

Thanks, Phil. Seems like it might need a little time to settle out before we plan it in.

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin 🚀 (Nov 24 2025 at 20:36):

Yeah, that would probably be best.
