Hi everyone,
I am a user of Dataverse who is trying to publish a dataset for a conference submission.
I am facing an issue here. Because my dataset already exceeds this 1,000-file threshold, the system is preventing me from making any modifications—even just replacing one existing file—because it re-validates the total file count for the new version.
If there is a preferred method for managing large datasets with over 1,000 files without hitting this validation ceiling, please let me know.
Best,
Ziyu
@ziyu hi! I would suggest keeping your files in a zip within your dataset. However! Please be aware that you might need to double-zip your files. (It depends on if the installation of Dataverse is configured for S3 direct upload or not.)
There's a nice Zip Previewer/Downloader that might be available on the installation of Dataverse you're using. You can read about it at https://guides.dataverse.org/en/6.10.1/user/dataset-management.html#compressed-files
