Topic: ✔ Advance Search on Harvard Dataverse

I’ve tried to do advance search on Harvard UI for Dataset authoraffiliation. The search string is not correct and search results of course are not right. Shows the following, even when putting the string in quotes “University of Virginia”

(authorAffiliation:University authorAffiliation:of authorAffiliation:Virginia)

Huh. You're definitely right, @Sherry Lake

Do you mind creating an issue?

It happens as far back as 4.20. I just tried on https://data.fz-juelich.de

Well, I just tried it again, with quotes around and it is working on Harvard now - on my Mac. So after further investigating...

I was trying on my iPad before and just tried on my iPhone - those have "curly" smart quotes. The string in my initial question (above) has curly quotes. IF you use straight quotes, it works fine.

Do we need an issue for converting UTF-8 before searching or using in a string?

Good. So with non-curly quotes, you're getting authorAffiliation:"University of Virginia" like we want. Phew!

Hmm, I'd say we could probably wait until the new React SPA front end has a search feature to create an issue (fix it there, I mean), but if you want to go ahead and create one, please go ahead.
