Let me just move your question to its own topic

I once upon a time did write all the stuff in gdcc/dataverse-kubernetes

Aside from me, there's @Johannes D and @Vera Clemens that I know of running Dataverse on a K8s cluster.

They have been working on a Helmchart here: https://github.com/nfdi4health/csh-deployment/tree/main/k8s/dataverse

I am using FluxCD with Kustomizations to deploy Dataverse, leveraging some of the nice functionality in Kustomize around mapping files to configmaps etc.

I'm sure that a Helm chart would be of interest to the community and we can probably use some of the experiences made so far.

For example, I always had this pipe dream about an operator, which can also take care about things like metadata blocks, and other stuff that would be good to put under a reconciliation loop and fed to the backend via API.

Should we talk about this tomorrow at our monthly meeting? @Mahendra Paipuri you're welcome to come! Please see https://ct.gdcc.io and #containers > meetings.

Thanks @Oliver Bertuch!! Cheers for the helm chart link, very useful!! I think we can start working from this chart to make it into a more generic one! And eventually we can add an operator as you proposed. I have pretty decent experience with Golang and operator framework!!

Cheers @Philip Durbin ๐Ÿš€ , Yes I would like to join the meeting!

We are keen on suggestion, change request and PR and happy to incorporate those. If its more generic and useful to the community we can also move the chat to the gdcc github organisaion.

@Johannes D Awesome! Alright, I will fork the repo of existing Helm chart and start working on it then!

@Mahendra Paipuri thanks for joining! I'd love for you and @Johannes D and @Vera Clemens to talk about Helm charts sometime.

Here's the recording from today's meeting, where we talked a fair amount about Helm charts and all things Kubernetes: https://harvard.zoom.us/rec/share/acfYjQwWp7_bB35oGZkmnjAcJbKOY17YkljCcYVzJ5-o14kdHWgLL77FxQMKqDwk.4rUou19HG67C5nyF

If watched some sections of the recording. @Mahendra Paipuri shall we schedule a meeting to discuss your usecase and how the helm chart can be used?
