Does anyone have an example of a great guestbook entry they could send me? I'm putting together a few guestbooks for our dataverse and I want to have a block of text with an "I agree" option that the user has to select before getting access.
Sorry, I can't think of a great guestbook example, but I think the main thing is to make the custom question required.
There's also a new feature (as of 6.1) called Guestbook at Request you can enable, if you like: https://guides.dataverse.org/en/6.2/installation/config.html#dataverse-files-guestbook-at-request
@Philip Durbin We have "I agree" and "I do not agree" as the two multiple choice responses to our guestbook terms, but theoretically, a user could select "I do not agree" and still download the dataset. Is this something I need to configure through users/groups at the dataset level? Or at the dataverse level? Thanks! We're just getting up and running over here at UC Berkeley.
Hmm, another way would be to restrict files and let people click a "Request Access" button.
Then the author or a curator would grant access.
