Hi folks - a non-technical question here. We're setting up Dataverse at UC Berkeley and are planning administrative privileges. At your institution, do librarians or other non-IT support staff have administrative access to the API for data file uploading purposes?

@Anna Sackmann hi! Yes, at Harvard Dataverse @Sonia Barbosa 's team of curators make regular use of APIs to upload files (or use DVUploader) and perform other administrative tasks (unlocking datasets, etc.).

Yes, at the University of Virginia. I am the Repository Librarian (non IT staff) and I do all the dataverseAdmin things - UI and API, when necessary.

Our IT-staff only help with upgrades to DV software and other dependancies (payara, solr, postgres) and hardware things - like getting AWS and S3 storage set up.

Thank you, Sherry and Phil! This is just the information I needed.
