@pdurbin I have the go-ahead to stand up a pristine new weblate, the current question is which cloud provider I'll need to use. things are moving forward, not backward.

Nice! Please let me know if I can help at all!

Philip Durbin Looks like we meet all the criteria for free Weblate hosting except Translations have to be in the same repository as the source code, or under the same project/organization as the source code repository. - before I pester Slava, how do you feel about moving/duplicating dataverse-language-packs to the IQSS org? Consortium vs IQSS sort of question.

Fine by me!

Speaking of translations in #community > pt_PT for version 5.12.1 is there still interest in Weblate for Dataverse? @Dimitri Szabo @AdΓlia Isabel Domingues da Cruz Alves

Asking because I might have a chance to enable DeepL on it...

Yes! It would still be super useful and ease the improvement of translations directly in the GDCC's repo rather than in installations :grinning:

view this post on Zulip Oliver Bertuch (Oct 18 2024 at 12:51):

So in the hosted Weblate Libre Plan they still have the same terms that @Don Sizemore pointed out.

view this post on Zulip Oliver Bertuch (Oct 18 2024 at 12:52):

I'm wondering if we should just move the translations to the gdcc org and use a mirror of the IQSS/dataverse in gdcc/dataverse as a source for this.

view this post on Zulip Oliver Bertuch (Oct 18 2024 at 12:53):

(Or instead of moving them, make a new empty repo and sunset the old one later)

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin πŸš€ (Oct 18 2024 at 15:34):

Similar to how right now Bundle.properties and friends are mirrored from IQSS/dataverse to GlobalDataverseCommunityConsortium/dataverse-language-packs, I suppose.

I was just thinking about this. No one would stop us from using a Github Action to push the properties files to another repo when they change. We can completely automate the process. Then we only need one project. We can probably also use the same project and setup components for the docs and the SPA

view this post on Zulip Oliver Bertuch (Oct 18 2024 at 18:09):

So that we end up with 1 weblate project having multiple components

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin πŸš€ (Oct 18 2024 at 18:16):

I'm not sure I'm following completely. Leave the repos where they are? And set up a GitHub action to automatically push properties files from the source to the destination?

view this post on Zulip Oliver Bertuch (Oct 18 2024 at 18:29):

Yeah. I'm about to shoot a message to the Weblate folks asking if that plan is eligible for a Libre Plan

view this post on Zulip Dimitri Szabo (Jan 20 2025 at 13:16):

Hello again, I didn't see follow-ups in the emails, are there news from the folks at Weblate on a Libre Plan for Dataverse?

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin πŸš€ (Jan 21 2025 at 12:09):

I'm not aware of any news, sorry.
