UCLA will be updating from 5.14. I'm told that updating RedHat 7 to 8 is best done with a fresh install. If I was to do that can I start with a 6.2 fresh install or start with 6.0?

It's a good question. I would perhaps do all the upgrading from 5.14 to 6.0 to 6.1 to 6.2 on the existing server (RHEL 7, it sounds like). And then move over to a new server.

I guess the alternative would be to copy your 5.14 over to a new server (RHEL 8, it sounds like) and then do all the upgrading there? Maybe that's better because you could do a lot of testing on that server before declaring it ready for production.

The other issue is that the current server is RedHat 7 and we need to upgrade to version 8
