hi all - we're investigating a potential campus partnership to use Cloudian as an S3-compatible local storage provider for our Dataverse instance. i think i've come across one or two Cloudian users in the Dataverse community, but there's nothing in the docs about it. does anyone have any insights, advice, or warnings to share?
Are we talking https://www.supermicro.com/en/solutions/cloudian selling https://cloudian.com/products/hyperstore?
If so: I have not heard about folks using that. I heard about SolrJ, Ceph, Minio, Dell OneFS and AWS so far.
But as long as they implement the S3 "standard" in a compatible enough way, you should be good to go. Simply create a test instance using Docker and hook it up with their product. Should be easy to test. Lets me think about moving the storage adapters into their own packages, so we might be able to create a TCK with them.
i'm guessing so. this would be storage provisioned through our central IT organisation
