Topic: CTS docs in DataverseNL

Hey all. I just noticed that many or maybe all CTS documentation of certified repositories is in a collection in DataverseNL. The first was published in Jan 2024 and more have been added since.

Has this already been discussed? If so, sorry I missed it. Could someone point me to it? If not, I'm curious about the plans for this. Are all CTS docs going to be published in this collection?

I was also wondering about this. They used to be just PDFs on the CTS website (a WordPress site, apparently, based on "wp-upload").

Maybe important to know: the CTS requirements got an update last year and I think all submissions with the new requirements might be the ones published. I guess the old Dataverse CTS documentation might be out-of-date because of these new requirements as well. (They're not ground-breakingly different, but the order of requirements has changed and some minor content stuff as well).

Maybe @Laura Huis in 't Veld or @Slava Tykhonov or someone else at DANS knows.

Hi all! There is indeed a collection for CoreTrustSeal within the DANS collection at DataverseNL. Once the certificate is obtained, the corresponding PDF is published. The title of each dataset and the PDF contains the 'requirement years'. There are datasets with the older requirements (2020-2022) but also recent ones - 2023-2025.

The deposit is an automated process. If the workflow in the submission system has ended, the corresponding file will be published.

@Laura Huis in 't Veld thanks! If this is written somewhere, maybe on the CoreTrustSeal website, that would be nice :grinning:

It's cool than DANS is hosting these PDFs, and that they have DOIs these days!

@Philip Durbin πŸ‰ It would be nice if the process Laura described was written on the CTS website?

Yeah, I think so. At https://amt.coretrustseal.org/certificates there'a link called "Certificates Archive" that goes to https://dataverse.nl/dataverse/coretrustseal . Maybe there could be a little more info there about what the archive is.

I feel like DANS should get an extra certificate for being so trusted that the PDFs are stored there. :grinning:

Thanks all. This helped me be more certain that when folks add or update the CTS doc links used for the Dataverse map, we should expect those links to be DOIs

I will let my colleague that works with CTS know that there is demand for a little more explanation on the website.

It wouldn't hurt. :grinning:

I just hope people don't say, "OF COURSE another Dataverse installation got a CoreTrustSeal certification! They're in cahoots!"

My colleague Lisa has no Zulip account and asked me to send you the following:

Could you please inform the community I have added a note to the FAQ sections on the website underΒ "What is the timeline for CoreTrustSeal Applications?": * All approved CoreTrustSeal applications are archived in DataverseNL and have received a Persistent Identifier (PID).

Furthermore, all approved CoreTrustSeal applications can now be found in DataverseNL. This includes the applications that have expired. All applications approved under the 2017-2019, 2020-2023 and 2024-2027 requirements have been stored in DataverseNL and have received a PID (Persistent Identifier).

Also please thank them for their feedback.
