 Hi everyone!

I am writing to let you know about our upcoming 6.5 release, scheduled for the beginning of December.

We're also prototyping some new procedures to improve coordination, transparency, and speed for our releases. Details at the Google Group.

@Johannes D please see the note about "last call".

Thanks for the notification. Whats the best way to suggest PRs for consideration?

We would love to have those three in:
https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/pull/10790
https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/pull/10739
https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/pull/10778

Well, this one is already in "ready for QA" so it's close: fix: issues in exporters and citations for PermaLink/non-DOI PIDs #10790

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin ๐Ÿš€ (Oct 30 2024 at 14:43):

Expose export formats in native API #10739 ... this one is in "sprint ready", 3rd from the top, so that's good. It should be pulled into a sprint sometime soon.

only the exlcude metadata are already scoped or somehow in the planning process

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin ๐Ÿš€ (Oct 30 2024 at 14:45):

Extension of API {id}/versions and {id}/versions/{versionId} with an optional excludeMetadataBlocks parameter #10778... this one seems like a worthwhile improvement. I think next we ask @Ceilyn Boyd and @Gustavo Durand if it can be added to "sprint ready".

and I forgot about the numerica serach one https://github.com/IQSS/dataverse/pull/10887

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin ๐Ÿš€ (Oct 30 2024 at 14:46):

feat: index numerical and date fields in Solr with appropriate types + more targeted search result highlighting #10887... this one is already in "sprint ready", 4th from the top.

ah thank, now I undestand how the project board is used :)

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin ๐Ÿš€ (Oct 30 2024 at 14:48):

It's complicated. One new wrinkle is that we have a new column called "ready for triage" for new PRs that fix bugs. We look at it every Tuesday.

Great, I'll try to put our roadmap into this project board. So I/we can see which of our requests/developments are ready for triage.

Cool, but please keep in mind that "ready for triage" is only for bugs, not features.

view this post on Zulip Johannes D (Oct 30 2024 at 15:01):

Is there something similar for community developed features planned?

view this post on Zulip Philip Durbin ๐Ÿš€ (Oct 30 2024 at 15:09):

Good question. There's newish post by @Ceilyn Boyd that might give some insight. And a project plan. I'm not sure about "feature" PRs, specifically.
